Year teams monitor student progress and work closely with parents. With parental consent we will involve as many outside agencies as is appropriate to get the best help and support for the students in our care. The Education Social Welfare Service, the Educational Psychologists, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, the School Nurse, Family Resource Worker, NCH (Derbyshire Family Mediation & Children’s Support Services), EWOs (Education Welfare Officers), Social Care Youth Inclusion i.e Support Partnership Workers and Fresh Start (smoking cessation service) all visit the college regularly to provide individual student support and guidance, helping young people to achieve their potential.
The Connexions Service also offer guidance at key stages in a student’s time at college when it comes to employment, training, the sixth form and further education. Our Student Support Managers will work closely with teaching staff to help reduce conflict amongst individuals or groups of students, they will inform you of any intervention involving your son or daughter. They are an important part of the support and communication system for your children. |
