canteen-staff.jpgThe school meals service is continually listening, reviewing and improving the service provided.  Following meetings and work with the Student Council, the cafeteria has a new look and improved facilities.  There is a wide choice of hot and cold meals every day.  It operates on a cafeteria basis, and healthy eating is encouraged through a varied menu.  Students may bring a packed lunch instead if they wish.  We expect all Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 students to stay on school site at lunchtimes.  Year 11 students who have met attendance and punctuality targets may apply for a lunch-time pass that, subject to parental permission, allows them off-site during the lunch-time period.  Mid-day supervisors who monitor those students wishing to leave the site check passes daily and will not allow those without a lunchtime pass to leave the school site.

Hot and cold snacks are available at  8.10am – 8.35am and at break 11.05am – 11.20am.

The school operates a cashless catering system which has many advantages.  Students use a biometric system which can be topped up as and when you decide.  To avoid any cash in school we encourage you to send in dinner money by cheque (payable to Derbyshire County Council).  Students on free school meals use the same system in exactly the same way as all other students.  This account is credited with £1.95 per day and those on free school meals are not identified in anyway.  This cuts out any possible related bullying.
