Listen to this article
Bullying may be verbal or physical and is repeated and intended to cause offence.  This will not be tolerated by the college in any form whatsoever, including using bullying via website, photo, text or e mail methods. All bullying will be acted upon when reported. If you are a victim of bullying, or if you observe incidents involving others, do not hesitate to inform any member of staff or the Peer Listeners.

  •  We are part of the Derbyshire Anti-bullying initiative (ABC).  The school has already achieved our second award and is currently working towards the highest level.
  • Bullying is viewed as a very serious offence at Alfreton Grange Arts College.
  • Form Tutors, Student Support Managers and Senior Staff treat bullying as an offence against the school as well as against the  person being bullied.
  • We have made significant progress but we will never become complacent.
  • Our Peer Listening scheme, praised by OFSTED, is well developed and encourages students to speak out against any incident of bullying.
  • Persistent bullies do not continue their education at Alfreton Grange Arts College.

These comments are from the June 2009 Ofsted report.

"The college provides a safe and welcoming environment: students feel safe
and most enjoy coming to college as shown by the significant improvement in
attendance".

"Care, guidance and support are good: vulnerable students and those at risk of
underachieving receive a high level of care and are guided well through transition
points during their college life".
