A Message From The Chair of Governors PDF Print E-mail
chrisslaterteaser.jpgWelcome to this latest edition of the College Newsletter, I do not always have the opportunity to contribute to its compilation, but myself and the rest of the Governing Body always enjoy browsing through the content, which like the layout is a high standard production.

Listen to this article

I am now in my third year as Chair, and my sixth as a Governor. In that time the College has gone through some dramatic changes, all of which have seen a continuing trend of improvement, last year our results were some of the most improved
in the whole Country!

This continued improvement has been achieved through a lot of hard work, a general acceptance of the need to change by all our stakeholders, a successful collaboration and working Partnership between the Governing Body and the College Management team, but more importantly the rise to the challenge you our Students were prepared to undertake.

Your contribution and indeed the support from Mums, Dads and Carers alike, plays a huge part in the success of our school, and it helps cement the College at the heart of our Community as a safe welcoming environment, where Students get the best standard of education possible.

Our Head Teacher Mrs Sharp is moving on to a new challenge at John Port School.

We will all miss Wendy, I have not got the space to list all the achievements in her time with us, but I guess you are well aware that they have been huge. It has been a privilege to work with her, and I hope like myself, you will get the opportunity to thank her personally, and wish her well for the future before the end of term.

Of course to the future, my fellow Governors and I are as excited about the process of recruiting a new Head Teacher as we were when we appointed Mrs Sharp. The College has an excellent reputation, and we are confident that the new Head will continue to build on the firm foundations for success Wendy and her team have already laid down.
