Welcome to the exams area of the college website. On this page you will find some essential documents to guide you through the Public Examination system and you will also find some tips, exam board data and useful advice for students and parents.

exams.jpgPlease study the Warning To Candidates, Notice To Candidates and the information given about mobile phones. These are rules and regulations set by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and are updated every year. All Awarding Bodies (exam boards) follow the regulations set by JCQ, as does the college.

The main Awarding Bodies we use at Alfreton Grange Arts College are Assessments and Qualifications Alliance (AQA), OCR and Edexcel. We also offer a small number of subjects using ASDAN, City & Guilds, WJEC and other smaller industry specific Awarding Bodies (such as those for Beauty Therapy).

You will also find a copy of the Appeals Procedure for Internal Assessment Marks for GCSE, GCE, ELC, BTEC, etc.

A Glossary of Education Terms is also listed.

It is the college’s policy to destroy all uncollected certificates FIVE years after the date of the examination or assessment.

Lost Certificates

If you have lost your certificate you can get a replacement or certified statement of results directly from the relevant awarding body.  The awarding bodies have records for examining boards that have ceased to exist through mergers.  There may be a charge for services. You will need to contact each awarding body.
